Light Switch With Three Wires. You will need to install three wire (plus ground) cable between the first switch and the other two switches. I assumed it was a single pole switch as it is a simple switch to turn on the bedroom light and there are no other controlling switches, but when I pulled the old switch out of the wall I found three black wires attached to it (two go directly into the switch and a third is screwed on the side).

They are wired so that operation of either switch will control the light. Separate the wires so that they are as far away from each other as possible.
With two-gang switches, you can run into traveler wires and other unique situations.
Now after some research I know it's connected to the bathroom fan as well as the bathroom light.
You will need to install three wire (plus ground) cable between the first switch and the other two switches. One three-wire bundle will have two colored wires (black, white) plus one of bare copper. Three-way light switches control a light from two locations, such as from both ends of a staircase or hallway.
